Batteries come in all different types, shapes, and sizes, but almost all contain hazardous materials that make them dangerous if improperly disposed of. Ballasts may contain many different components considered toxic, such as PCBs and DEHPs.

Electronic waste, also known as e-waste, is anything from obsolete computers to TVs to circuit boards. E-waste often contains toxins and hazardous chemicals (Examples: lead and mercury)

Universal Environmental Services offers solutions to recycling batteries and E-waste properly, making sure that your facility is keeping the environment clean and safe, as well as staying within all government regulations concerning battery, ballast, bulbs, and E-waste disposal.

UES Airbag Recycling Program

Universal Environmental Services provides a reliable airbag recycling service. We offer flexible shipping options (palletized or drummed) using a Bill of Lading (BOL) that does not affect your generator status.

Once received, materials are prepped by removing excess nylon and other materials. The airbags are then deactivated in an Airbag Deactivation System (ADS). All resulting components are sorted by material type and sent for recycling/ recovery.

PCB/PFOS/PFAS recycling and Disposal

Universal Environmental Services offers recycling and disposal of PCB and PFOS/PFAS contaminated waste streams. Our Hazardous waste division will guide you through the process from start to finish. They will handle the profiling process, schedule the loading and transport of the waste to include transformers and contaminated equipment.

Repurposing may not always be the most cost-effective option, but it keeps valuable materials out of landfills and incinerators. UES manages projects ranging from specialized small-quantity waste to large, project-based operations.

Because disposal can sometimes be the more economical choice for generators, we provide pricing for both repurposing and disposal, upon request. We always keep our customers’ budget considerations in mind.

• Solvent distillation, including cleaning and blending solvents for resale
• Paint recycling/Paint recovery and reblending/repackaging for resale.

Branding removal and depackaging are performed manually through a “lab-pack de-packing” process or mechanically using shredding equipment.
